Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Say hello to Dr. Douglas Evert, Pharm. D, who works in the Campbell County
Memorial Hospital
Pharmacy. Doug received an Associate of Science (Pre-Pharmacy) from
Casper College and went on to earn his Pharmacy Doctorate from the
University of Wyoming. He’s worked for CCH for eight years. While the Pharmacy at CCMH
isn't a retail pharmacy, which means that the public cannot have them
fill their prescriptions like you would at other pharmacies around town,
the department is responsible for helping with medications prescribed
for patients while they are in the hospital. The CCMH Pharmacy is also
the only dispensary that provides home IV therapy that’s ordered
by a provider and mixes all of the chemotherapy drugs for the patients at the
Heptner Cancer Center. “Each day brings different challenges and I am given the opportunity
to interact with and help my fellow co-workers throughout the hospital
heal the sick and injured people that enter our facility,” says
Doug. We asked Doug why he chose a career in healthcare, and what excellence
every day means to him. Check out his response:
“I became interesting in working in healthcare while three classes
short of graduating with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. My wife
Collie, who had left nursing school to allow me to finish my engineering
degree, convinced me in my last semester of engineering school to switch
majors to become a pharmacist. I applied to become a pharmacy technician
at every pharmacy in Idaho Falls, Idaho and I was hired at Eastern Idaho
Regional Medical Center without any healthcare experience. I had only
ever worked construction and grew up on a farm. It was a big jump, and
not one that I have ever regretted.
To me, excellence every day means maintaining a positive and respectful
attitude toward everyone despite the varying situations and circumstances
that may occur throughout the workday.”
Doug, thank you for making a difference in the lives of our patients; we
are proud to have you on our team.
