Editor's Note: What follows is a first-person account on a surgical
procedure and rehabilitation that CEO Andy Fitzgerald is going through
at Campbell County Health. He plans to post his account several times
over the course of the next two weeks.
As the saying goes "no pain no gain", and in my case I guess
that means I'm making great strides forward.
The last few days after starting rehab have been fairly uncomfortable but
I feel like I'm still moving forward.
I was able to return to work for a few days this week, and it felt very
good to be around my friends and colleagues once again.
So here are some of the things I've learned about being a patient at
Campbell County Health,
Powder River Surgery Center and CCMH
Rehabilitation Services:
- Having surgery is never any fun but if I have to have surgery, having it
at a CCMH facility will always be my first choice.
-
Using our local physicians is always a good choice.
Dr. Hans Kioschos and
Dr. Nate Simpson of
Powder River Orthopedics & Spine - A Campbell County Clinic, and
Dr. Monica Morman,
Campbell County Clinics, Orthopaedic Specialists, always provide great orthopedic and spine care. I wouldn't hesitate
to use any one of them should I need surgery again.
- Using CCMH Rehabilitation Services has also been a good choice.
Fortunately we're in a position in Wyoming where we have health care
choices we can make—should we stay with a local provider or facility,
or should we travel to ones nearby. I know that there have been individuals
who have gone out of Gillette for orthopedic care, as well as other kinds
of care such as
cancer or
general surgery. A choice I truly do not understand, after I have received such great
care locally.
For me and my family we will continue to choose local providers and our
CCMH facilities. I hope you will join us.
Andy
