Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Say hello to Samantha Jones, a
Medical Assistant (MA-C) and
phlebotomist (PBT) in the Campbell County Medical Group
Neurology clinic. Samantha has worked for CCH for the last five years, and is looking forward
to many more. In fact, she’s currently enrolled at
Gillette College to further her career in health care.
Samantha was inspired to work in health care by her father, a volunteer
firefighter who taught her at a young age the basics of first aid. “That
sparked my interest, but when I was in high school I donated blood and
thought that this would be an interesting career. I enrolled in the phlebotomy
class offered by CCH and was accepted. I was lucky enough to get hired
on at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital
Lab shortly after that,” she says.
Samantha is very glad for that first job in the Lab. “I have learned
so much over the past five years. I would have to say every single person
I have come in contact with has inspired me in some way, shape, or form.
I like to say
Christy Mayard was my lab mom and taught me everything they don’t teach you in
the books. She is hard working, and dedicated to patients and co-workers.
I hope I am half the phlebotomist she is,” says Samantha.
Outside of work, Samantha has been dedicating a lot of her time working
on homework, but she most enjoys spending time with her family—her
husband, who she married in October 2016 and her 1½-year-old niece
are two people she enjoys spending a lot of time with. “I also like
to travel. I just returned from a vacation in Argentina and can’t
wait to plan my next adventure,” she says.
We asked Samantha what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“Neurology is so fascinating! I truly enjoy coming to work every day.
Dr. Mosquera is wonderful to work for--he is very kind and really takes his time with
patients. I also enjoy working with Joni Ewers, RN. I met Joni last year
and she is so supportive inside and outside of work, also has some pretty
entertaining stories about her kids. She makes me laugh every day! My
favorite part of my job is when patients can come back and be truly happy
with the care that was provided. Working at CCH has taught me a lot, and
I am so thankful for all of the opportunities CCH has provided me.
Excellence every day to me means that I am a part of a team. I’ll
work as a team member and provide great care for our patients.”
Thanks for being such a team player, Samantha. We appreciate you!
