CCSO donates to activities fund at The Legacy

Dec 28, 2018

Residents at The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center will get to enjoy a few more activities in 2019, thanks to a generous donation by the Campbell County Sheriff's Office.

Every year the Sheriff’s Office gives employees the opportunity to wear a casual uniform for a $20 donation. Proceeds from this support the Annual Awards Ceremony and a Summer Barbeque; however, the Sheriff's Office also donates $1,000 to a charity or cause as a way to give back to the wonderful Campbell County, Wyoming community.

Their Employee Appreciation Committee looks for ways to help the community locally, and this year selected senior citizens, who, according to them, are sometimes overlooked.

"The idea was born when we found out there was a resident Christmas Tree at The Legacy, similar to the Secret Santa program at the Recreation Center," says Gina Monk, Information Services Supervisor at the Sheriff’s Office. "This is when I reached out to Jonni and she told me about the activities program that we could give to for the seniors."

For those who don't know, the Activites Team at The Legacy is tasked to bring residents a better quality of life. Activities they do with residents include fishing at Dalbey Memorial Park, attending community events, playing bingo, planting gardens, making bird houses or glass art, taking a drive for ice cream, and much, much more. Special thanks to the Sheriff's Office for thinking of our residents and donating to the activities fund.
