Shannon Sorensen is the new Rehabilitation Manager at
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center.
She comes to Gillette from Ainsworth, Nebraska, where she was the Rehabilitation
Manager and then served as CEO of
Brown County Hospital, a critical access hospital in a community of 1,600. Shannon participated in the
Chadron State Rural Health Program and graduated from the
University Nebraska Medical Center with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2006. She completed her Master’s
degree in Healthcare Administration in 2017.
Shannon is excited to use her hands-on physical therapy knowledge along
with her operations expertise in tandem with the healthcare resources
and services that Campbell County Health and Gillette have to offer, and
will be responsible for all resident rehab activities at The Legacy, including
Short Term Rehabilitation. She is looking forward to continuing her passion of advocating for rural
healthcare in a larger community and developing her skills in the long
term care setting.
The Sorensen’s have relatives in Montana and Colorado and wanted
to move further west. Shannon and her husband Eric have two boys ages
7 and 10, Tatum and Payton, who are active in basketball, baseball and
football. Eric has landscaping and outfitting businesses and will be developing
them as the family settles into the local community.
Join us as we welcome Shannon and her family to Gillette!
