Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Say hello to
Angie Murphy, a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician who works in the Campbell
County Memorial Hospital
Pharmacy. Angie’s been in health care for the past 35 years; and 15 of them
have been right here in Gillette, Wyoming with CCH—she briefly moved
to Texas and then returned! Angie attended college at
University of Texas and
East Texas State University. For those who don’t know, the CCMH Pharmacy isn't a retail
pharmacy, instead it’s responsible for helping with medications
prescribed for patients while they are in the hospital. The CCMH Pharmacy
is also the only dispensary that provides home IV therapy that's ordered
by a provider and mixes all of the chemotherapy drugs for the patients at the
Heptner Cancer Center.
Angie was inspired to work in healthcare because she had a desire to help
others, and was fascinated by medicine. “My first Pharmacy director
was a World War II veteran and I learned a lot from him—he was awesome!” she says.
When talking about her health care hero, Angie reflected upon two women
at CCH who have impacted her in very positive ways. “First Donna
McMahill an
Oncology nurse. She has such a good attitude and knowledge of the field of oncology—and
that continues to impress me. She is compassionate to all her patients
and even myself I have confided in her for guidance spiritually and professionally.
I don’t think that she’s aware of how much I appreciate her,"
says Angie. "Same goes for Heidie Jasiak, PharmD, who I work with
in the Pharmacy. I’ve seen her grow as a college intern, to doing
her rotations and even helped train her in the IV lab—and now all
the knowledge she has involving the operations of the pharmacy, IT issues,
being a mom, friend, and co-worker. She just amazes me! I’m proud
to have her as my friend."
Outside of work, Angie loves spending time with her family. “We have
family get-togethers, cooking, camping, fishing, thirsty Thursdays! Spending
time with my grand babies and last but not least rec volleyball representing
CCMH (in the past) and Becks Baby Boomers with several championships,” she says.
We asked Angie what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“I love that I have the opportunity to work with such amazing co-workers,
and knowing so many different people from different departments and being
able to call them all my friends. We have state-of-the-art pharmacy equipment—thanks
to our Director
Robert Quintana—for such a small and rural hospital.
Excellence every day is doing the best job possible while being outstanding
and delivering quality care all the time—plus seeing all my people
smile and leaving satisfied!”
Thank you, Angie, for your wonderful attitude at the Pharmacy. We are honored
to have you on our team!
