Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Meet Heather Ash, NCCMA, who works as a medical assistant in the Campbell
County Medical Group
Walk-in and Occupational Health Clinic in Gillette, Wyoming. Heather is a Nationally Certified Clinical
Medical Assistant from
PIMA Medical Institute and a
Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist—she has been a Medical Assistant since 1999, the same year she also
became an
EMT. She has worked for CCH for six years, but has been in health care for 20 years!
Heather chose a career in health care because she always wanted to help
people. “When I was little, I would always hear the ambulances and
would wonder what was going on, and wished there was a way I could help
them. When I was 16 I was able to shadow the paramedics in my hometown
and was also able to go to Denver General to shadow,” she says.
“When I graduated high school, I went to
Denver General and became a EMT Basic, but was too young to work on the ambulance. I
had a classmate in EMT school who was a Medical Assistant, and she always
told me how great it was to be a medical assistant to help patients and
the providers.”
Heather calls her health care heroes the
paramedics in her hometown of Wheatland, Wyoming. “They were always so caring,
giving, and willing to help anyone at any time,” she says.
When Heather isn’t at work, she enjoys kayaking, doing crafting projects,
playing disc golf, fishing, and riding motorcycles. “Pretty much
anything outside—on a nice day—I enjoy doing!” she says.
We asked Heather what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“I work as one of the occupational health nurses at the Walk-in Clinic,
and I take pride in knowing that I have helped the employees start their
career by performing pre-employment testing for them. I enjoy knowing
that we are helping people to feel better due to a sickness or helping
them with an injury. I am constantly learning something new every day
at the Walk-in Clinic.
Excellence Everyday means to me to put your best foot forward—having
compassion, pride, and heart with patients, and with our CCH family.”
Thank you, Heather, for always putting your best foot forward for our patients
and for staff. We are proud to have you on our team!
