Welcome to the Emergency Department, Dr. Dickey

Jul 23, 2015

Dr. Tyler Dickey is a new addition to the Emergency Department team. He attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, and just completed his Emergency Medicine residency at CMU Medical Education Partners in Saginaw, Michigan.

Dr. Dickey was looking for a career opportunity that would bring him closer to his family. His parents live in Henry, NE, a small town between Scottsbluff and Torrington; and he has a brother in Chadron.

Dr. Dickey wanted to be a fireman when he grew up, like his uncle who lived in Denver. Dr. Tyler became an EMT and worked as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Chadron, NE. Emergency Medical Technician work sparked his interest in medicine and started him on the path to emergency medicine.

According to Dr. Dickey, the ED staff has all been very welcoming, especially Dr. Bret Birrer.

Dr. Dickey’s hobbies include woodworking, furniture making and hunting and fishing.

“My family always came to Wyoming for hunting and fishing,” said Dr. Dickey. “ My father is very excited for a local post office box. Then we can take advantage of in-state hunting tags.”
