Thanks for working here Thursday: Colette, Surgery

Sep 16, 2015

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say Hello to Colette, a Scrub Tech in the Surgical Services Department at Campbell County Health. Colette achieved her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from Wahpeton College of Science in North Dakota in 1974, and later became a scrub tech in 1980—where she learned on the job how to perform her services. She's been with CCH since 2004. Scrub techs assist surgeons in the operating room—so, at any given day Colette can be preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, passing instruments to the surgeons, moving patients, and dressing wounds. Colette has had two loves in nursing—one in maternal child (nursery, labor and delivery) and the other in the Operating Room. She was fortunate to try them both, but the skill required of her in the OR "fit her like a glove," she says. We asked Colette what she loves most about what inspired her to work in healthcare and what she likes most about working for CCH. Check out her response:

"My mother was a caregiver herself as a stay at home mom on a farm/ranch. She was a caring, loving person. She really encouraged me to consider healthcare as a career.

I love the people I work with here—I really believe that I work with some of the most genuine people, who give good care. I also enjoy working in Surgery, as every day is always different and challenging. And in the end, I make sure that I go in with a smile and know that I'm doing the very best for the patient."

Colette, thank you for always bringing your A game with you at work. We appreciate your can-do attitude and are proud to have you on our team.
