Meet Beatrice (Bea) Pfenning, a Department Secretary in the Campbell County Health Radiology Department—you’ll soon be seeing Bea at the Outpatient Imaging Center in the Stocktrail building helping patients with Campbell County Medical Group
Orthopaedic Specialists and
Powder River Orthopedics and Spine. Bea, who has spent 15 years with CCH, has an associate’s degree in Secretarial Science and has been working in healthcare for 33 years!
Dr. James LaManna recently wrote to our CEO about the excellent work Bea provides our patients every day. He said: “Bea is on the front line in dealing with often frightened and uncomfortable patients and does so with true compassion and individual attention… I believe the healing process (for many of our patients) is often facilitated by her.” We were also told that Bea makes the daily work of the technologists and radiologists nearly seamless, and she freely shares years of knowledge and experience with her colleagues in the reception area. Bea is also very involved with
Bell Nob Swing for the Cure, which provides financial assistance to Northeast Wyoming residents who need a mammogram or other assistance in the diagnosis or treatment of breast cancer with a golf tournament every August. We asked Bea what inspired her to work in health care, what she likes most about working at CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:
“I love working with patients. In my role, I get to see a lot of the same people and get to know them well. While CCH has grown and offers some of the latest and greatest in health care technology, we are still small enough to really provide that caring and compassionate approach. The best part of working with people is creating relationship with them—that is very rewarding.
Excellence every day that I’m providing the same care to them that I would provide to my family, or would want provided to my family. Working here, you’re going to encounter patients and clients who may be having a hard day—remember to take a minute to show them some comfort or just offer them a hug.”
Bea, you are a dedicated and valuable employee. We appreciate you always putting patients first—whether that be hanging Christmas ornaments in a child’s room because he’s stuck in the hospital for the holiday, making sure a patient and his loved ones are comfortable in their room, or helping to arrange a concert for a patient’s daughter so she wouldn’t miss her children’s performance. We are proud to have you on our team.
