Thanks for working here Thursday: Shawn Gallagher, Rehabilitation Services

Jul 19, 2017

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Shawn Gallagher, a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in CCH’s Rehabilitation Services Department. For those who don’t know, PTAs work under the direction and supervision of physical therapists. They help patients who are recovering from injuries and illnesses regain movement and manage pain.

Shawn earned his Associates Degree in applied sciences PTA program from Finlandia University. He’s been at CCH for six and a half years. Shawn was inspired to work in healthcare because, he enjoys “working with people and it is a huge reward to help people learn a new physical skill or regain a prior level of function—I get to help improve someone’s quality of life, essentially.” We asked Shawn what he likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to him. Check out his response:

“CCH offers great benefits, and I work with some really great people; but, most of all, CCH offers endless opportunities to advance my education through continuing education. And all of that means that I get to help a wide variety of patients. As an added bonus: The teamwork in Rehab Services is hard to beat, and so is the compassion and skill level. I also have all the equipment necessary to do my job.

Excellence every day is performing at the highest level I am capable of every single day, and if I am not equipped to help a patient, I make sure to assist the Physical Therapist in finding the perfect care provider who can provide the best possible care.”

Shawn, thank you for taking such great care of our patients. We appreciate you!
