Thanks for working here Thursday: Kim Kirby, Health Records and CCMG Office Specialist

Oct 25, 2017

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Kim Kirby, Health Records and Office Specialist for the Campbell County Medical Group Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism clinics on the third floor of Campbell County Memorial Hospital.

Kim says after graduation and working at Cordero Coal Mine for four years, getting married and having two sons, she got a part-time job at Campbell County Public Health doing record keeping in 1982. “I loved transcription, record keeping and working with the public, so I happened to find my place in health care,” she says. Kim has worked in health care for more than 35 years—in fact, she also did medical records in 1982 at Pioneer Manor (before it was part of CCH)—and also working in long-term care facilities in Idaho.

Kim was hired at CCH in February of 2011. “After passing of my husband and progression of MS, I returned to Wyoming to be with family for strength, love and support. I wanted to work for CCH so I could be a part of a health care team and make a difference,” she says. “CCH is a great fit! I started my professional health care career at Pioneer Manor and my intent is to retire at CCH,” she says.

When asked about her health care hero, she mentions a few. To start is Debbie Mills, who was the Long-Term Care Administrator in Boise, Idaho who gave Kim her first Directorship in Medical Records. “Debbie believed in my abilities and gave me the courage and support to believe in myself,” says Kim. This led to Kim earning a Long-Term Care Administrator license through the University of North Carolina, and becoming a licensed LTC Administrator/ Residential Administrator in the State of Idaho. Kim also mentions two other heroes: Cheryl McDonald, RN, BSN, Nursing Director for TLC Home Health and Generations Home Health and Lonnie Schell, CCMG Practice Manager, both who believe in Kim and have encouraged her to continue to grow with in the health care record keeping industry.

For fun, Kim says that she enjoys being a grandmother, cross-stitch, jigsaw puzzles, family, and being a new home owner. We asked Kim what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I most enjoy interacting with people—team building with co-workers, admin staff, and other employees to assure the best patient care. It’s really wonderful to see the quality of care provided by CCH with the specialty services available for the community as a whole.

Excellence every day is simple: it is quality of care.”

Thank you, Kim for being so enthusiastic about providing quality care to our patients. We appreciate you!
