Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Allow us to introduce Rickay Wolf, RN, who works at Campbell County Memorial Hospital
Behavioral Health Services. Rickay earned her Associates of Applied Science in Nursing from
Gillette College in May 2015 and is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s of nursing
and masters of science in nursing education bridge program through
Western Governors University—she’s hoping to finish the programs by July 2019. She has
worked for CCH for the last three years.
Rickay knew from a young age that she wanted to be in health care—either
a doctor or a nurse. “Serving and caring for others has always come
so natural to me. I find joy in helping, teaching, and being a positive
influence in patient’s lives,” she says. She’s been
in healthcare for a total of 14 years—beginning as a certified nursing
assistant (CNA) at 16 year’s old, and even working as a physical therapy technician
for two years before attending nursing school. “My heart has always
been in healthcare,” she says.
Rickay calls her mother, also a registered nurse, her healthcare hero.
“I grew up seeing her be selfless in her career and always advocating
for her patients and striving to do the right thing. Being raised by such
a positive role model inspired me to become a nurse and help people the
way she did, and still continues to do.” She also finds inspiration
from her nursing instructors and fellow nurse colleagues who teach and
encourage her to grow daily.
Outside of work, Rickay enjoys watching her children play sports, as well
as traveling with her husband (and kids) for family vacations. “I
really enjoy spending time with friends and family no matter what the
occasion. I enjoy singing, dancing, and going to concerts. Fall/Halloween
is my favorite time of year, and I love pumpkin-spiced everything,”
she says. Oh, and she’s a big Denver Broncos fan, and loves attending
NFL games.
We asked Rickay what she likes most about working at CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“I enjoy working with the child and adolescent psychiatrist, and
learning about various mental health diagnosis and treatments. I enjoy
seeing the children learn and grow, and improve at home and school because
of their treatment and the hard work they put in. I really enjoy learning
about and helping children and their families.
To me, excellence every day means knowing your job and doing it well. It
means being aware of people and circumstances, and being kind in our daily
encounters. It means always striving to do what’s best for the patient,
department, and organization.”
We couldn’t agree more, Rickay. We appreciate all that you do for
our patients in Behavioral Health Services. Thank you for being a part
of our team.
