Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County, Wyoming community to know about the good work
that they do for this organization.
Say hello to Jenni Miller, RN, BSN, who works at
Home Health and Hospice in Gillette, Wyoming. Jenni has been with CCH for 18 years—working
for the Campbell County Memorial Hospital
Maternal Child and
Medical/Surgical departments before joining Home Health and Hospice! She earned her Associates
in Nursing from
Gillette College in 2001 and Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the
University of Wyoming in 2012; she also has her wound care certification.
Jenni has always been drawn to the healthcare field. “Since I was
a little girl and my Grandma worked in a nursing home—anytime that
I was in a hospital, I was fascinated by what the nurses and doctors were
doing, and by the knowledge they had,” she says. Jenni calls her
healthcare heroes all the people who have a humble heart to help people;
however, there is one special person in her mind:
Dr. Philip McMahill. “I have worked with him in different settings over the years—as
a student nurse during clinical hours, a staff nurse on Med/Surg, when
he was the medical director for Hospice and now as a physician at
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center. I’ve enjoyed learning from him and working with him over the years.”
When Jenni isn’t at work, she loves to attend exercise classes and
complete in obstacle courses. “I have three granddaughters in town
who I hang out with as much as possible. I love to camp and go on motorcycle
trips with my husband. I also love to paint and remodel—in fact,
if I wasn’t a nurse I think I would be very happy flipping houses
for a living!” she says.
We asked Jenni what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“I love the Home Health and Hospice team that I am a part of! We
have a high level of autonomy as we are out in patient homes making assessments
and providing care on our own. Team communication is critical, and I feel
that we excel at it. For me, it all comes down to quality patient care,
which I believe CCH takes seriously. I feel like I actually make a difference
for our patients. Whether it is with direct patient care, policy review
and revision, keeping current with standards of care and regulations,
training new staff, or attending education opportunities—I am proud
of where I work. CCH provides employees with excellent benefits, continuing
education opportunities, and the tuition reimbursement program paid for
my BSN degree. I can’t imagine working anywhere else.
To me, excellence every day is being committed to providing care that your
patient feels is beneficial, doing your job with integrity to the very
best of your ability, treating others with respect, trying to put yourself
in others shoes, and remembering that although a task may be second nature
to you, it may be the first time your patient has experienced it.”
Thank you, Jenni, for taking such great care of our Home Health and Hospice
patients, and being a wonderful member of our team. We are proud to work
alongside you.
