CCH IT expert hosts Gillette cyber security presentation

Apr 25, 2019

Campbell County Health Cyber Security Administrator Navar Holmes is giving a free Cyber Security Awareness presentation on Monday, May 6 at 6:30 pm at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 203 W Flying Circle Drive in Gillette, Wyoming.

For those who don’t know, cyber security impacts all communication and social interaction that we have daily through our phones, email, and entertainment platforms. In his presentation, Navar will cover the simple things everyone can do to improve their daily cyber hygiene. He will discuss the different types of phishing and other scams that can make life much tougher than it needs to be. There will not be over-the-top techie talk or hard-to-understand language. His discussion is for the whole family—even highlighting a time when his youngest son exclaimed one night, “My PlayStation account has been hacked!”

Navar has more than 23 years of Information Technology experience and has been with CCH since September 2002. He was a featured speaker at Wyoming Cybersecurity Symposium 2018 and is serving as the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Wyoming Chapter President. In addition to this, he volunteers his time and expertise to further the objectives of Cyber Wyoming and Made Safe in Wyoming.
