CCH 2019 Volunteer Spotlight: Beth Klaassen

Nov 20, 2019

Meet Beth Klaassen, a valued volunteer with Campbell County Health in Gillette, Wyoming.

Beth is a natural when it comes to her volunteer role: working in the Gift Shoppe at Campbell County Memorial Hospital. She owned a small dress boutique in Casper for eight years, so she knows how to display merchandise so it will sell quickly.

Beth also taught all grades of elementary school in the Campbell County School District for 20 years at Wagonwheel, Hillcrest, and Westwood schools. She says she really loved the kids, and building relationships with students, parents and staff.

Beth and her husband Larry have two sons, one living in Cheyenne and one in Gillette. The couple has six grandchildren, ranging from Fourth to 12th grades, with three grandsons living in Gillette. Beth loves following her grandkids in all their activities. She also plays the piano for her own enjoyment, and can play by ear.

Beth has volunteered in the Gift Shoppe since 2017, and has 400 volunteer hours under her belt. She says that volunteering brings her lots of joy and satisfaction, and really enjoys serving the community and the CCH staff who shop there.

Worship is very important to Beth, and she enjoys reading spiritual books and the Bible. She has taught Sunday School for many years to mixed age groups. A favorite memory of Beth’s is being part of a mission team of 20 people that went to Siberia, focusing on ministry and encouragement to women. She also traveled to an orphanage in Honduras with her family on a ministry as part of her church. Both trips had a significant impact on Beth’s life.

Beth embodies the spirit of volunteerism; giving her time for the opportunity to help others. Thank you for giving so much of your time and talents to CCH.
