Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Allow us to introduce Amanda Walter, RN, who works for CCH
Home Health and Hospice in Gillette, Wyoming. Amanda is currently enrolled in a nursing master’s
program and has been in health care for 17 years—14 of those years
have been with CCH. Hospice, by definition, is a team-oriented approach
to providing specialized care for people facing a life-limiting illness
or injury. It includes expert medical care, pain management and emotional
support for patients and their families.
“I always knew that I wanted to help people,” she says. “I
thought being a nurse was the best way I could do that. It was not until
my grandfather passed away in the CCH Hospice House that I knew I wanted
to work in the Hospice field, as I was inspired by the end-of-life care
he received.”
Amanda calls her healthcare hero her grandmother. “She was a nurse
who also raised five children and was a devoted wife for 60 years,” she says.
When she’s not working, Amanda loves spending time with her children,
who are 8 years old and 16 years old, and her husband of 11 years. “We
love camping, hunting, and just being outdoors,” she says.
We asked Amanda what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to hear. Check out her response:
“I love working in a department with people full of compassion for
the jobs they do. We are a great team together. I have always received
great care and support from my co-workers.
Excellence every day to me means that you give your best of yourself every
day. That you give caring, competent, and compassionate care every day.”
Thanks, Amanda, for providing such great care to our patients at Home Health
and Hospice. We are proud to have you on our team.
