Thanks for working here Thursday: Jo Ann Bachmann, CMT, LPN, CCH Rehabilitation Services

Nov 06, 2019

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Jo Ann Bachmann, a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who works for CCH Rehabilitation Services in Gillette, Wyoming. Jo Ann is a graduate of Western Dakota Vocational Technical School in Rapid City, SD, and Mueller College of Massage and Holistic Studies in San Diego, Calif. She’s been with CCH since 1981. Medical massage focuses on a particular medical diagnosis as part of the physician's treatment plan, and can be recommended for a variety of maladies, including carpal tunnel syndrome and migraines. Patients can undergo medical massage as a part of a larger physical therapy regimen for numerous chronic problems.

“Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to be a nurse,” says Jo Ann. What she realized, later on, was that she was most intrigued with massage therapy.

Jo Ann calls her friend Kathy Barton her health care hero. “When I first came to CCH I worked with Kathy. I was always observing how she cared for her patients. She treated all of them with the utmost respect, even the ones that gave her such a hard time. She was so professional and I thought I would like to be like her.”

When Jo Ann isn’t at work she enjoys traveling, reading and gardening. “I totally enjoy riding my Harley and riding through the Black Hills,” she says.

We asked Jo Ann what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“The best thing about my job is working with my coworkers—we all work together as a team. They totally trust my judgement when working with their patients as to how to best help the patient relax. Knowing that my massages have made a big difference to some of my patients makes me very proud.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to performing my duties as a Massage Therapist. I feel I do my job to the best of my abilities, and that is what excellence every day is to me.”

Thank you, Jo Ann for helping us take such great care of our patients. We appreciate you.
