Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Introducing
Jamie Mooney, the Employee Safety Coordinator for CCH’s
Professional Development, Infection Prevention, Employee Health and
Case Management departments in Campbell County, Wyoming. Jamie has worked for CCH for
16 years and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health.
The wellbeing of our employees always has to be a priority, but now more
than ever. Jamie plays a large role in protecting our staff, so we can
serve our community. Jamie initially started working health care at CCH
Rehabilitation Services. As she came to know the patients and their families, she realized that
her interactions with those patients accomplished something good!
“I felt fortunate to be with them on their journey as they recovered,
even if it was for a short period of time,” she said.
What started as ”just a job” that she didn’t envision
working for long became a profession that she can’t imagine doing
anywhere else but in health care.
When Jamie isn’t working as a guardian of safety for our staff, you
can find her spending time with her family or reading in her spare time.
Jamie’s family enjoys camping and traveling together. They also
are the lucky recipients of her love for baking and cooking.
We asked Jamie what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“For a long time, employee safety in healthcare was always put ‘on
the back burner’ with patient safety always coming first. I’ve
slowly seen that way of thinking change. Now, employee safety is starting
to become just as important as patient safety. Our employees are important
and I’m proud to be a part of processes that support our employees.
We are always learning and changing and there are still improvements that
we need to make. But, we are on the right track!
“I always think of the golden rule, ‘treat others as you would
like to be treated’ for excellence every day. Working in healthcare
for so long can make us forget that while we see these situations daily,
the patient does not. To them, this is their world right now, and it’s
scary! Recently I was not only an employee, but also a patient, and I
can’t express the gratitude I felt for the healthcare providers
and staff that took the time to make me feel taken care of and to understand
the situation I was in at the time.”
She also gives kudos to her team, saying that she works with an amazing
group in Professional Development.
Jamie, we appreciate the care you take in keeping employees and patients
safe. We are proud to have you on our team.
