Thanks for working here Thursday: Crystal Peterson, RN, Quality, Risk and Care Management

Feb 19, 2020

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Meet Crystal Peterson, RN, BSN, who works as a Care Manager in the Quality, Risk and Care Management Department at CCH. Generally speaking, CCH's Quality department monitors and evaluates trends within the organization, and uses that information to improve our patients' experiences, increase patient satisfaction and ensure patient safety.

Crystal earned her degrees at Casper College and Western Governors University‎. She’s worked for CCH for 19 years—17 of those years were spent in the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Crystal says she was inspired to work in healthcare from her mother. “She works in a nursing home and is dedicated to caring for the residents. It was probably a calling and the ability to help people in need that made me interested in nursing,” she says.

Crystal also calls her mother her health care hero. “Compassion and dedication to help others was taught by my mother. She works very hard at everything she does to this day. She is the one that taught me my work ethic and compassion that drives me daily,” she says.

When Crystal isn’t at work, she says that she loves to go camping, and spend time at the lake in the summer.

We asked Crystal what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I had worked in ICU for 17 years and it was an amazing experience. I strive to do the best that I can for each one of my patients. The Quality Department is very supportive in caring for our not so fortunate patients. I am still able to care and advocate for my patients but in a different way than bedside nursing.

Excellence every day means showing up and being the best person daily for my co-workers and patients. I believe every person that I come in contact with is very important. I believe in treating others as I would want my family to be treated with care and compassion.”

Thank you, Crystal, for being an advocate for our patients. We’re proud to have you on our team.
