Thanks for working here Thursday: Jamie Black, CCH Human Resources

Jan 22, 2020

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Jamie Black, Senior HR Generalist, who works for CCH Human Resources in Gillette, Wyoming. Jamie has been with CCH for under a year, and is already making heads turn with her new ideas for hiring! Jamie has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and Human Resources, and this is her first job with a healthcare organization.

“The challenge of learning a new industry was very appealing to me. I also wanted the opportunity to work in an organization that had a direct impact on my immediate community, and CCH was a perfect fit,” Jamie says.

Jamie does have a health care hero; however, she did not prefer to be named. “She has worked in the healthcare industry for several years, and when I first interacted with her, I was very impressed by the way she communicated and made sure she was explaining things in a way that made sense to people with limited knowledge of medical terminology,” she says. “Healthcare can be intimidating to people, especially when they are dealing with major health problems, and she always seems to make people feel much better about their situations. While her customer group is different than mine, it made me believe that if people could leave my office feeling better about their situations, or having found a resolution to their problems, I would know that I was making a difference to the people I work with, and coming closer to her model of stellar customer service.”

Outside of work, Jamie enjoys reading, running, horseback riding, taking care of her small herd of sheep and cattle, and spending as much time as possible with her dogs.

We asked Jamie what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I feel the most pride in my work at CCH when I am able to work with a manager and find a qualified candidate for a position that is difficult to fill. I enjoy learning the needs and expectations of each department when they are hiring new candidates, and assisting those departments in finding candidates that are a good fit for their department and for CCH. What I enjoy most about working in the HR department is that no two days are ever the same. Each day comes with new challenges, and the opportunity to assist people makes HR a very rewarding department to work in.

To me, Excellence Every Day means going above and beyond what is expected of me, and providing great customer service to every person that comes into the HR department.”

Thank you, Jamie for helping CCH find qualified and compassionate employees to take care of our community. We are proud to have you on our team.
