Many thanks to
CCMH Associate Chaplains Mike and Geri Jambretz for donating 17 afghans to the CCMH Dialysis Center.
The Gillette Cheese House owners regularly volunteer in Dialysis and Oncology,
and noticed that many of the patients were cold while receiving treatments.
The pair decided that they would like to give patients something that
would comfort them while keeping them warm while in the hospital. Mike
reached out to his sister, Janice, and some knitters at the Antelope Valley
Baptist Church to make the afghans, and they were happy to help. Mike
made sure to point out that each afghan takes approximately 30 hours to complete.
Mike then took them to
Bear’s Naturally Clean Dry Cleaners, where John Bear cleaned them for free when he learned what Mike was doing
with the blankets. Mike is happy to say that the Dialysis Center isn’t
the only area that will receive blankets—his sister and her knitting
team are hard at working making more for patients in Oncology.
Many thanks to Mike and Geri Jambretz, Janice Jambretz, the Antelope Valley
Baptist Church knitting club, and John Bear for this kind donation to
patients at CCMH.
