Welcome Deb Johnston

Nov 06, 2014

Deb Johnston wants you to feel comfortable. The new physician assistant at the Walk-in Clinic has a knack for putting her patients at ease. She’s worked in healthcare for 18 years, beginning her career as a nurse before completing a physician assistant program at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She has worked in urgent care, family practice, primary care and women’s health settings before coming to Campbell County Health from Sheridan, Wyoming.

“Most of the places I’ve worked do basically the same things,” said Deb. “The procedures and EMR (electronic medical records) systems are different, but listening to the patient and treating them with kindness is the key to making them feel comfortable and cared for.”

Deb has a home in Sheridan, and is currently traveling back and forth to work. She’s the primary caregiver for her 84-year old mother, and being able to be home at night is important to her.

“I may buy a small place in Gillette in the future,” she said.

Deb and her husband Greg have two grown sons and a nine-year old granddaughter. Deb loves to work in her garden and pursue outdoor activities like fishing, boating riding ATVs and walking her two yellow labs.
