Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Meet Kami Kearns, MA-C, who works on the Cottonwood and Pine Place neighborhoods at
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center. For those who don’t know, these neighborhoods are part of the
Memory Support Unit for residents who suffer from
Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.
“Kami is passionate about ensuring her team cares for the residents
well,” says Jonni Belden, RN, Vice President of Home Care Services.
“Kami knows that the residents did not choose to be here, and it
is her responsibility is to treat them with compassion and respect. We’re
lucky to have her at The Legacy.”
Kami has been with CCH for five years, and is a
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a
Medication Aide. For those who don’t know, Medication Aides provide routine daily
medications to patients and residents, as well as monitor vital signs,
help residents with basic hygiene and feeding, among other duties. Kami
was inspired to work in health care when she was younger. “I helped
a family friend who had a trach—I was able to see the benefits of
being able to help someone who couldn’t possibly provide for themselves,” she says.
We asked Kami what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“CCH provides career growth—I am encouraged to reach my potential.
I love my residents I work with, and I have developed family like relationships
with some of my co-workers. What I like the most about working in my department
is getting to know my residents and anticipating their coming needs. I
enjoy getting to know their families, and building relationships with
them. I like learning about the dementia process and how it progresses.
Excellence Everyday means that you strive to do your best, every day; and
being part of a team to help the organization as a whole succeed.”
Thank you, Kami for your compassionate nature and respect for our residents.
We appreciate you!
