Meet Kim Shank Zehner. Kim is practically a fixture at
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center. When she heard that volunteers were needed to
help move residents from Pioneer Manor to The Legacy last November, Kim came to help Marla
Russell and the Activities staff pack up and move all their supplies.
After the move Kim asked if help was needed in the new facility. She’s
been volunteering ever since.
Kim helps with bingo, paints nails and is right there with arts and crafts
projects, including glass art. She goes on shopping trips for the residents
and stops by to visit one-on-one, averaging about nine to 12 hours a week.
Kim worked as a housekeeper for 24 years, and later worked at
Home Depot and
JoAnn’s. She likes to keep busy, and volunteering gives her the ability to help
others and make someone’s day. For Kim, volunteering is an opportunity
to put others first and fulfill a need in the community.
Kim embodies the spirit of volunteerism—giving her time for the opportunity
to help others. Thank you, Robin for all that you do for CCH and this
community.
