The Campbell County Health November 2017 Department Discovery shines a
light on the Campbell County Health
Accounting Department, located in
Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
The Accounting department is responsible for accounts payable, budgets,
fixed asset tracking, monthly financials, payroll, and statistics throughout
the health system. This team also produces annual W-2’s for all
of CCH’s employees and 1099’s for the vendors, as well as
work with external auditors and consultants every year for a required
annual audit and the coordination of the Medicare Cost Report.
“In simple terms, Accounting successfully reports the financial activities
for the organization so that leadership is able to make strategic decisions
for the success of the system, which benefits patients by us being able
to offer the many specialty clinics we have at this time,” says
Controller Heather Stucker.
Staff consists of three accounts payable members, one payroll member, two
accountants and one controller. This seven-person team is responsible
for the majority of
Campbell County Health, including CCMH, Home Health and Hospice, Home Medical Resources, nearly
20 clinics, Powder River Surgery Center, Rehabilitation Services, and
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center, and everything in between.
“We take all of the different parts of the health system and pull
the financial and statistical data together in 10 days (or less) every
month in order to present complete financial statements to executive leadership and the
Board of Trustees,” says Heather.
One item the team is excited to participate in this year is moving all
of the Campbell County Medical Group clinics onto the same Electronic
Medical Record as CCMH—Meditech.
“This project will have direct and substantial impact to our processes,
as it relates to not only the clinics but how we pull everything together
each month. It is a challenging implementation but one that we hope will
be well worth it once completed,” says Heather. “When that
project goes live, we will be looking forward to focusing our attentions
on being able to provide managers with better system training, reports
and the tools they need to successfully manage their departments.”
Heather says that the best thing about working in the department is being
able to work with all of the managers, and help them understand the financial
flow within their departments so they are be able to do their jobs well.
“We have an amazing team—every one of us strives for excellence
every day and to provide our customers with the best customer support
possible. We are proud of what we do and appreciate being able to contribute
to CCH.”
