When injury strikes or long-term wear of joints and muscles require rehabilitation,
the Occupational Therapists at
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center provide the necessary exercises to get the residents back into motion.
Simply getting out of bed may be a challenge or even moving from one position
to another can be a problem. Occupational therapists have studied the
movements required to make these transitions happen safely and know the
therapies to help improve weakened muscles and alternatives when others
fail. They can even help retrain newly repaired body parts to do the job.
Occupational therapy services may include comprehensive evaluations of
the resident’s home and other environments, recommendations for
adaptive equipment and training in its use, and guidance and education
for family members and caregivers.
April is Occupational Therapy Month, and CCH wants to make sure that we
spotlight all of the therapists throughout our organization. So, thank
you for always doing the right thing for The Legacy residents and
Short Term Rehabilitation patients, and for providing excellence, every day.

When the transition from hospitalization to home requires a stay in short
term care, The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center’s state-of-the-art
facility can help. Short term care, also called
short term rehabilitation, is focused on getting people back to their homes quickly with a daily
therapy schedule. Short term rehab patients stay in a separate wing at
The Legacy with private rooms and direct access to the large rehab gym.

Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people
of all ages participate in the things they want and need to do through
the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Unlike other professions,
occupational therapy helps people function in all of their environments—for
example, at home, work, school and in the community—as well as addresses
the physical, psychological, and cognitive aspects of their well-being
through activities. Services are available to patients at the Stocktrail
Building, The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center for residents, or
in the comfort of their own home. Learn more about Occupational Therapy at
