Gillette Area Leadership Institute (GALI) students spent the morning of January 18 with Campbell County Health
learning about key leadership tactics—such as conflict management,
trust, consensus building, mediation, and facilitation—and how CCH
uses these in everyday business. Topics discussed included physician relationships,
communication, planning, and succession planning.
The students toured the mock patient rooms that are nearing the final planning
stages and will eventually move the
Medical/Surgical Unit and the
Intensive Care Unit rooms from the fourth floor of
Campbell County Memorial Hospital to the second floor, adjacent to the current
Maternal Child department. The CCMH inpatient room redesign will increase room size for
all inpatient rooms and improve workflow for the providers which ultimately
will improve patient outcomes. The patient room project is projected to
be complete in 2020. You can learn more about it at

For those who don't know, GALI is a nine-month program designed to
promote a better understanding of the community, build and enhance leadership
skills, and develop a strong network of community leaders. Developed by the
Campbell County Chamber of Commerce, participants take daily trips each month to learn more about all facets
of the community, as well as head to the legislature to learn more about
the legislative process, meet with legislators and tour the Wyoming National
Guard in Guernsey. The program begins in September and will complete in
June with a graduation ceremony. Learn more about the program at
