CCH 2019 Volunteer Spotlight: Greg Baker

Jul 11, 2019

Meet Greg Baker, an Emergency Medical Services volunteer at Campbell County Health in Gillette, Wyoming.

Greg began volunteering in September 2017 and has 245 hours to date. He is a Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy and has worked closely with EMS in his role as a law enforcement officer. His interest in healthcare led him to complete Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and he is now enrolled in an advanced EMT class. Greg helps out at EMS by driving the ambulance and sometimes helping with patient transfers to other healthcare facilities.

He says he always feels welcome as volunteer and knows that he is appreciated. He enjoys helping others any way he can.

“As a volunteer for EMS Greg is a tremendous asset,” says Chris Beltz, EMS Director. “His experience as an EMT and law enforcement officer allows him to help us in many ways. Greg is always willing to volunteer his time at the EMS department when we are experiencing high call volumes and need extra staff to serve our patients. Greg can be counted on to come in on short notice, day or night, to assist us with our every need.”

When he’s not working at the Sheriff’s Department or volunteering, Greg likes to spend summer days camping and enjoying time at the lake. He is also an amateur actor, acting in plays with his two daughters this year.

Greg embodies the spirit of volunteerism; giving his time for the opportunity to help others. Thank you for helping CCH give the best possible care to our patients.
