Chris Beltz, the Director of Campbell County Health
Emergency Medical Services, wants to show you what it's like to work for EMS in Campbell County, Wyoming!
In Gillette and Wright, a typical EMS professional works 24 hours at a
time, and is assigned to a shift. While they’re working, it’s
not unusual for these providers to respond to more than 10 calls per day—with
an average of 3,800 calls per year in Campbell County, Wyoming.
Other daily tasks our staff members do include:
- Rig checks to ensure they are stocked with all of the equipment needed
to save a life; as well as make sure the ambulance is running well.
-
Rounding and providing patient care in departments at
Campbell County Memorial Hospital and
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center.
- Writing reports, reviewing protocols and policies, performing Quality Improvement/Quality
Assurance activities.
- Chores, which include cleaning and organizing the base, washing and organizing
the ambulances.
-
Exercising and training, which includes running through scenarios in our
hi-fidelity simulation lab and intubating patients with our
anesthesia experts.
-
Car seat inspections, which take place every Wednesday by appointment, and a few other events
throughout the year.
Every day, our EMS crews are called upon to help others through one of
what may be the most frightening times of their lives. If you have what
it takes, apply online at
