Are You Due for a PAP Test?

Apr 30, 2015

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), cervical cancer is the easiest gynecologic cancer to prevent, thanks to the Pap test and the HPV test.

In the past, women were advised to receive a Pap test annually. Those recommendations changed a few years back. Now, guidelines suggest women ages 21 to 65 years old get screened every three years with women 30 and over adding an optional human papillomavirus (HPV) test as HPV can be an indicator for cervical cancer. If you have a family history of cervical cancer, your doctor may suggest more frequent testing.

There are many skilled physicians in Gillette who provide needed screening tests and other services.
