Volunteers enhance the care provided to patients at Campbell County Health in many
different ways. This new feature will highlight one of our CCH volunteers
and the important contributions they make to the organization and the
community.
Sherry Percifield has been volunteering with Campbell County Health for
about a year. Her speciality is making and donating “Angel Blankets”.
Often parents do not have a baby blanket when they lose an infant due to
an unexpected miscarriage or stillbirth. That’s where Sherry’s
creations makes a positive difference for families in what is certainly
their worst possible time. The
Maternal Child Unit at Campbell County Memorial Hospital now has a supply of these hand-quilted,
very special blankets when the need arises.
Sherry not only gives her time to CCH, she also does K-9 therapy with special
needs children at
Campbell County School District, bringing her dog Addison to interact with children who have issues like
autism and may have trouble relating to others. She also visits children
who are having home life issues, just to give them the experience of the
unconditional love given by a dog.
Sherry embodies the spirit of volunteerism—giving her time for the
opportunity to help others. Thank you, Sherry for all that you do for
CCH and this community.
