Nursing, like healthcare in general, has become increasingly complex.
While registered nurse (RN) licensure provides entry into the practice of nursing, many nurses choose to increase their knowledge and skills by becoming certified in their chosen specialty. It requires a strong personal commitment to excellence to become certified, including actively working in the specialty for a period of time, successfully completing the certification training and exam requirements and completing continuing education to maintain certification.
Campbell County Health (CCH) has certified nurses in all areas that provide patient care: medical surgical, critical care, pediatrics, cardiac/vascular, emergency nursing, oncology, wound care, perioperative nursing, professional development, infection prevention, nursing leadership and nursing case management.
More than 65 CCH nurses have achieved an advanced certification in their specialty.
Thank you and congratulations on a job well done!
