Jeff Rice, the new Director of Behavioral Health Services, comes to CCH from Reno, Nevada where he was the CEO of Behavioral Health Services, LLC. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field of mental health services, including program design and development, and management and operations.
Jeff says he was attracted to the opportunity here because it he felt it matched his philosophy of combining compassion for patients and high quality care with fiscal responsibility.
He grew up in a working class family in Saginaw, Michigan and worked his way through college with a job at General Motors. His GM experience taught him about working in a large organization, and helped develop his interest in organizational development, quality and human resources. He attended Central Michigan University, graduating with a degree in Psychology and Organizational Development.
Jeff says he has never lived in an area (like Gillette) where the people are so gracious and welcoming. He initially couldn’t find a place to stay until an apartment was available, and ended up staying in the home of a friend of his real estate agent for two weeks.
Right now Jeff is getting to know his staff and starting to formulate his vision for Behavioral Health Services. He knows there will be a growing need for behavioral health services in the community and wants to develop ways to serve more people.
Jeff’s wife Wendy and daughter Alexis will be joining him in Gillette at the end of January.
Welcome to CCH, Jeff.
