For 10 years, the CCHCF's Black Cat Ball has been a formal venue to honor people working in healthcare-related fields that have made a difference in our community. An individual must show career excellence as well as volunteerism to qualify for this award. These individuals represent what's right with healthcare in Campbell County, Wyoming. Sue Howard, RN, appointed to the Board of Nursing
Susan Howard, RN, MSN, Professional Development, has been appointed to the Wyoming State Board of Nursing by Governor Matt Mead. The board's mission is to serve and safeguard the people of Wyoming through the regulation of nursing education and practice. Board Members serve to regulate the qualifications of nurses and nurse aides practicing in Wyoming; develop and enforce legitimate nursing education, practice and disciplinary standards; license APRNs, RNs, LPNs, and certify CNAs; approve nursing education; and much more. The Governor appoints seven members to the Board, which is comprised of five RN members, one LPN member and one consumer member. Congratulations!
Two CCH employees participating in GALI
Felicia Messimer, Community Relations, and Noamie Niemitalo, Early Childhood Center Manager, were accepted to the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce
Gillette Area Leadership Institute (GALI). GALI is a nine-month program designed to promote a better understanding of the community, build and enhance leadership skills, and develop a strong network of community leaders. They join 16 other classmates on daily trips each month to learn more about all faucets of the community, as well as head to the legislature to learn more about the legislative process and meet with legislators and tour the Wyoming National Guard in Guernsey. Madonna Reece certified in Cardiac Vascular nursing
Madonna (Donna) Reece, registered nurse in Campbell County Health's Cardiac Rehabilitation department, recently received certification as a Cardiac-Vascular registered nurse from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC Cardiac-Vascular Nursing board certification examination is a competency based examination that provides a valid and reliable assessment of the entry-level clinical knowledge and skills of registered nurses in the cardiac-vascular specialty after initial RN licensure. Donna has been employed by CCH since November 2000.

Bud Lawrence certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Bud Lawrence, Process Improvement Coordinator at Campbell County Health (CCH), recently received Lean Six Sigma Excellence in Healthcare Delivery Black Belt certification from The Performance Management Group. The individuals earning this certificate learn the principles and applications which help healthcare systems implement a culture of continuous improvement and use methods such as lean management and practices like the Toyota Production System. These principles help improve patient outcomes while driving down the cost of patient care. Graduates apply the concepts of continuous improvement to create and sustain more productive, efficient and cost effective healthcare delivery throughout the organization. Sonya Haptonstall certified in Wound Care
Sonya Haptonstall, registered nurse at Pioneer Manor, recently received Wound Care certification though the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO). The purpose of the certification program is to provide participants with current, evidence based education in the area of skin and wound management. Upon completion participants gain the skills to accurately assess, document, identify and plan appropriate and comprehensive patient treatment plans and interventions for wound management. Sonya has been employed by CCH since July 2003.

Laura Castellanos recognized by the WHA
Laura Castellanos, registered nurse in ICU, was recognized by the Wyoming Hospital Association at their recent conference in Casper. Laura was nominated for the Norman S. Holt award, a statewide recognition for nursing excellence.
Volunteer Services department receives award from WHA
CCH Volunteer Services department recently received the Outstanding Auxiliary Award from the Wyoming Hospital Association at their recent conference in Casper. The department was recognized for the volunteer programs that work with Youth such as the
CCH Summer Junior Volunteer Program, and the Mentor and Internship students in conjunction with
Campbell County School District.
The objective of CCH's Junior Volunteer Program is to expose young adults between the ages of 13-18 years old to healthcare professions and cultivate a spirit of volunteerism. CCH believes that this is the first professional work experience for most of these young adults and much like the adult program, the Juionrs are expected to complete an applications, participate in an interview, attend orientation, behave professionally, and abide by the corporate dress code including wearing a badge and uniform.
