On April 27,
Gillette College hosted an Alumni Reception to pay tribute to all the nurses who have been
a part of the Gillette College
Nursing Program, as well as honor their Distinguished Alum Award Winner, CCH’s own
Director of Nursing Anne Raga, RN, MS, CNML.
Anne knew she wanted to be a nurse from an early age, and she started in
health care while she was in high school as a
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She received her Associates Degree at Gillette College in 1989
and went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in nursing and Masters of
Science in nursing leadership at
Regis University in Denver. Anne is also certified as a nurse leader through the
American Organization of Nurse Executives. Anne has been a nurse for more than 30 years.
In October 2014, Anne was elected as the President of the
Wyoming Nurses Association (WNA), the state's largest professional nursing association for registered
nurses in all practice settings. She served as the WNA President until
October 2016. Anne is active in her church, the community, and has volunteered
her time to the college nursing program. She currently serves as Chair
of the Nursing Advisory Committee at Gillette College and has been a member
of this board for a number of years.
“Anne demonstrates all the attributes of a ‘distinguished alumna’
for Gillette College,” said Louise Posten, Gillette College Director
of Nursing. “She is a valued member of our community, and her support
for our students and College are part of what makes our program successful.”
Congratulations Anne on your achievements and award! We appreciate you.
The Distinguished Alum award is sponsored by the
Gillette College Foundation.
