Each year from October 6-12, CCH celebrates National Physican Assistant
(PA) Week, which recognizes the PA profession and its contributions to
the nation’s health.
For those who don't know, a physician assistant, or PA, is a graduate
of an accredited educational program who is nationally certified and authorized
by the state to practice medicine with the supervision of a licensed physician.
Also called advanced practice professionals, PAs are invaluable members
of the healthcare team and work in concert with physicians to ensure the
highest quality of care for patients. There are more than 90,000 PAs working
in every medical and surgical setting across the country.
