I grew up in Campbell County, Wyoming and have lived here for 30 of the
37 years of my life. I can honestly say that there is no other place I’d
rather be and no other place I would want to call home.
More than two years ago, Campbell County Health
Emergency Medical Services embarked on a project to increase the reliability and promptness of response
to emergencies by remodeling the facility in Wright to support a 24 hour
operation. Lead by Chad Reid, we have built a base with living quarters,
offices, and sleep rooms that allow us to have a crew immediately available
for service 24/7, 365 days a year.
Regardless of the time or day of the week, you can be assured that we will
be ready to respond to your needs. With the completion of this project,
and the addition of six full time employees, we now have three ambulances
staffed at all times in Campbell County that are available for the more
than 3,500 emergencies we respond to annually. We can now reliably, consistently,
and promptly provide care to you and our community when needed.
EMS will be there for you when you call 911. EMS will be there for you
when you need transported to
Campbell County Memorial Hospital. EMS will be there for you when you need transported to facilities with
specialized care. And EMS will be there for you when you need us for support
at sporting events, community activities, fire standbys, and high risk
law enforcement responses. EMS is committed to serving our community through
a lifetime of care with dedication, skill, and compassion.
Campbell County is a wonderful mix of natural beauty and industrial activity
filled with hard working people that are committed to the success of our
community. The success of the CCH's EMS department is dependent upon
friends and families, neighbors and coworkers, elected officials and emergency
service agencies, all working together and supporting each other in times
of need. I take great pride in the many stories that can be told about
our community pulling together in support of each other when things got tough.
I’d like to thank those of you who have volunteered and worked with
EMS in the past, as well as thank those of you who are currently working
with EMS. The service you have provided to this community has truly saved lives.
Another thanks goes to those who that have supported EMS. Many of you early
in our humble beginnings donated your time and dollars to get us going
and then continued to support us with donations of equipment, clothing,
and even more dollars to help us be a reliable and sustainable service.
Thank you to the
Campbell County Fire Department and
Sheriff’s Office,
Gillette Police Department, and
Wyoming Highway Patrol for always being side by side with us on our emergency calls. The assistance
you provide us and the service you provide to those in an emergency are
key to the successful outcomes experienced every day.
I’d also like to thank all of the elected officials and Campbell
County Health’s
Board of Trustees for their unwavering support through the years of EMS in Campbell County.
Without your work on contracts, agreements, and funding we wouldn’t
have been able to provide our service.
And finally, I’d like to thank the executive leadership of Campbell
County Health. Since 2001, when all EMS service in Campbell County was
consolidated into a department with in our organization, you have consistently
provided us with the funding, equipment, vehicles, and personnel necessary
to provide reliable, skilled, and prompt emergency medical services to
Campbell County.
