Campbell County Health just finished
remodeling the main Triage Room in the Campbell County Memorial Hospital
Emergency Department in Gillette, Wyoming.
Patients are triaged by a nurse when they arrive, and asked about their
symptoms so treatment can begin. A new door was added that opens into
the lobby so the nurse can see the ED entrance and patients can enter
more easily. In many cases patients go right from triage to an exam room
without waiting in the lobby. If a bed isn’t available right way,
windows in the triage room allow the nurse to keep an eye on patients
waiting in the lobby.
