Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have a host of tips available to help you prevent illness caused by extreme
cold by taking extra steps to make sure you heat your home safely. These
tips can be found here:

- heat your home safely
- light your home safely
- use generators safely
- cook safely
- conserve heat
- monitor body temperature
- keep a water supply
- eat and drink wisely
