Now that the weather is beginning to change and school is back in session,
don’t be surprised to see your child getting a cold or illness.
Viruses that cause things like the common cold love the changing weather
and swings between warm and cold days. Don’t ever hesitate to call your
healthcare provider’s office to discuss your child’s symptoms or take them to be seen for an
appointment if your child is sick. Things to be concerned about and seek
medical attention or advice are:
- fevers that don’t go away with medications
- decreased fluid intake and refusing to drink liquids
- sleeping a lot more
- not getting up to play.
If you can’t decide if you need to have your child seen, call and
discuss it with your healthcare provider’s office. There are never
silly questions or concerns, and it is better to address health concerns
right away than wait until the problem becomes more serious. A concerned
parent or guardian is a great parent or guardian.
Here at the
Kid Clinic I provide primary healthcare for infants and children from 2 weeks of
age up through their 18th birthday. I do well child checkups and have
all vaccine programs available. I also see same day appointments when
your child is sick and needs to be seen. Whether your child is having
an ear ache or fever, call us and I will do my best to see them that day.
We are open Monday- Friday 8 am-5 pm, and closed from 12-1 pm for lunch.
In addition to primary medical care, the Kid Clinic also provides counseling
services with four professional counselors available. Counseling can be
a huge benefit for kids with issues like depression and anxiety. The counselors
and I work a team to assist each child and their individual situation.
You can call and schedule an introductory session with one of the counselors anytime.
