Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County, Wyoming community to know about the good work
that they do for this organization.
Introducing
Sondra Dabney, CNA, who works in Transportation at
The Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, Wyoming. Sondra has been with CCH for 27 years (and in health
care for more than 30 total), and spent some of that time in the Activities
Department of long-term care.
Sondra calls some of her family members her health care heroes. “When
I was younger my mom and grandma always took me to nursing homes, and
I visited with patients there,” she says. “I remember that
the residents had the best stories, and I wanted to work with them. I've
always liked being around and working with people—especially helping
them.”
She also calls her health care heroes, “everyone I work with. We
can never do this job without each other.”
Cindy Prince, RN, BSN, House Supervisor at The Legacy, had this to say
about Sondra: “Sondra is a very hard worker and always goes above
and beyond to meet the needs of our residents. She makes sure that when
they leave the building, their needs will still be met. She works hard
to make sure that her residents have a pleasant drive and are on time
to their appointments. Sondra doesn’t stop there, when she has down
time she works on the floor and helps out the team. She is a
CNA and utilizes her skills as often as she can and seeks opportunities to
better herself to be able to provide excellent care. Sondra comes to work
prepared to serve our residents with excellence every day!”
When Sondra is not at work, she loves to spend time with her grandchildren,
go camping and golfing.
We asked Sondra what she likes most about working at CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“Being with the residents, hands down, is the best part of my job.
I love to make them smile and hear their amazing stories and the history
of our community, or where ever they are from. I strive to make their
day whenever I’m with them. There is such amazing teamwork at The
Legacy, and in transportation—we take the residents to and from
appointments and on other errands, so it’s essential to have good
communication.
For me, excellence every day is doing the best you can for your residents
and your coworkers.”
Sondra, we appreciate that you! We know that you do your best for our residents
every day.
