Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County, Wyoming community to know about the good work
that they do for this organization.
Allow us to introduce Alice Rambo, LPN, who works at the Campbell County
Medical Group
Walk-in Clinic in Gillette, Wyoming. Alice attended the
Logan/Mingo School of Practical Nursing in Logan, West Virginia, where she earned her licensed vocational nurse
(LPN). She’s been with CCH for 19.5 years. When asked what inspired
her to get into the health care field, Alice says: “I just knew
from a very young age that I was going to be a nurse. It took me until
I was 36 years old but with much encouragement and help from my husband
Marty we got it done!”
Alice’s health care hero was Nurse Knewitz. “When I was a freshman
in high school I got into trouble while in the library for talking—I
know that's hard for anyone who knows me to believe, but it's
true! My punishment for this was to lose my study period and to report
to the mean school nurses office to work for her,” says Alice. “It
turns out that she wasn't mean at all, she and I actually hit it off
well and I worked for her all four years of high school—by choice.
She shared a lot of her nursing stories and knowledge with me throughout
those years. These experiences with her just confirmed in me what I already
knew: I was going to be a nurse one day.”
Outside of work, Alice says that she and her husband and are homebodies;
but, in realty, they enjoy spending as much time as possible with their
family. Otherwise, Alice enjoys quilting, cooking, watching TV and playing
games on her tablet.
We asked Alice what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“I am so blessed, I get to work with an amazing group of people at
the Walk-in Clinic, we are truly a great team! We respect each other and
enjoy working together—from our manager and supervisors, to the
providers, from the ladies at the front check in desk to our housekeepers
and maintenance people and our nursing staff, we all really care about
each other, which allows us take great care of our patients!
When I am recognized by a patient or their family at work or out in public—when
they remember I was their nurse and they want to give me an update on
how they are doing, a hug or say thank you—that fills my heart with
pride! I believe excellence every day is a choice. I try to approach each
day with the right attitude to perform my duties to the best of my ability
with humor, honesty, hard work, pride and integrity. I feel that in order
to achieve excellence every day I have to smile, always do the right thing
and appreciate what I receive back from my patients, and the great group
of people I work with at our clinic and throughout this organization.
I continually strive to improve and give my patients, co-workers and employer
my maximum effort.
Thank you, Alice for being a part of our team. We appreciate you.
