Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County, Wyoming community to know about the good work
that they do for this organization.
Meet Sara Pence, an accountant who works in the
Accounting Department at CCH in Gillette, Wyoming. Sara has been with us for four years, but
has worked in the accounting and finance field for more than 20 years.
For those who don’t know what an accounting department does for a
health system: CCH’s Accounting department is responsible for accounts
payable, budgets, fixed asset tracking, monthly financials, payroll, and
statistics throughout the health system. This team also produces annual
W-2’s for all of CCH’s employees and 1099’s for the
vendors, as well as work with external auditors and consultants every
year for a required annual audit and the coordination of the Medicare
Cost Report.
According to Sara, she stumbled into heath care. “There were not
many accounting positions available when I moved to Gillette five years
ago. When I came across the CCH job listing, I jumped at the chance to
work in healthcare,” she says. “I have learned so much in
the four years I have been here. It has been an adventure!”
When talking about a health care hero, Sara mentioned nurses who work in
Hospice. “My family lost my father to ALS (or Lou Gehrig's disease).
Going through that has made me look at healthcare in a different way.
The hospice nurses were such a blessing—they are like angels on
Earth,” she says.
According to Sara’s director, Heather Stucker: “Sara is an
awesome member to have on CCH’s Accounting team. Her experience,
knowledge, and commitment to excellence is top-notch. Our customers know
they can count on Sara for timely and accurate assistance, and rely on
her for her expertise. Sara truly does embrace Excellence Every Day and
I am thankful to get to work with her!”
When Sara isn’t at work, she spends as much time with her family
as possible.
We asked Sara what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence
every day means to her. Check out her response:
“Accounting is a huge support department for CCH, and I love being
part of that team. There are not a lot of things that happen at CCH where
Accounting isn’t involved. I like being able to provide information
to staff and providers so they can focus on patient care. I just like
helping people anyway I can—I find pride in that.
To me excellence everyday simply means that you do your best, every day!”
Well put, Sara. We appreciate you and are proud to have you on our team.
