Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family
and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they
do for this organization.
Meet Megan Kummerfeld, RN, who works in the
Maternal Child Department at Campbell County Health. Megan graduated from the Denver
School of Nursing and has been a nurse for seven years—three of
those years she’s worked for CCH. She is also Advanced Cardiac Life
Support certified in Obstetrics (ACLS OB) and is an instructor here at
CCH. According to Josie LeMaster, Maternal Child Director, “It is
a real pleasure to work with someone who exemplifies service excellence—Megan
is a true leader in the making.” Megan was inspired to work in healthcare
by the drive to be that nurse that is always compassionate and kind. “After
seeing my Mom go through nurse after nurse that wasn't compassionate
and caring, I knew that I wanted to do my part and be a different kind
of nurse. I have always loved taking care of people and I feel like I
have a compassionate side for those going through hard times. I am patient
with mothers while they are laboring, can rejoice with them as they have
a healthy birth and can console mothers when tragedy strikes,” says
Megan. We asked Megan what she likes most about working for CCH, and what
excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:
“What I like most about working at CCH is the fact that I have my
dream job. I love that CCH gives us such wonderful educational opportunities
to better ourselves. For me, working in Maternal Child is getting to experience
the best day of someone’s life. Bonding with a mother as she labors,
and meeting their new baby ranks high up there as well. Helping to educate
the parents so they feel confident and empowered to go home and take care
of their baby is also rewarding. I am blessed to work with a great group
of women and compassionate doctors.
Excellence every day means to come to work with a positive attitude, a
smile on my face and be that caring compassionate nurse. Excellence every
day means showing respect to all families regardless of their situation.
Excellence every day means treating my coworkers with patience and kindness
in all circumstances. Excellence means being the type of nurse I wanted
to be, not just a few days but every single day I work.”
Thank you, Megan for being a caring and compassionate nurse to our patients.
We are proud to have you on our team.
